This course is delivered over 2 years. To obtain the full qualification the full 2 years must be completed. Students who exit after the first year will be awarded a statement of attainment for year one competencies completed.
Course DescriptionThis is a two year course for students interested in gaining employment in range of vocational areas in the Motor Trades. Satisfactory completion of all of the first seven Units of Competency in first year will give 20 SACE credits at Stage 1 level. Satisfactory completion of all seven units taken from the Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology will give students 20 SACE Credits at Stage 2 level and a Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation. In recognition of Urrbrae AHS’s Agricultural curriculum, two Units of Competence, relevant to employment in Diesel and Agricultural fields, have been added to the Elective components each year.
PathwaysFurther Education Pathway - May lead on to an Apprenticeship in the Automotive Trades. Career Pathway - Light Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Bike mechanic.
Entry RequirementsPasses in Mathematics and English at Year 10 level
Other RequirementsAttend an information session and an interview in Term 4, 2019.
