Course DescriptionThis course provides entry level skills for the general construction industry. It includes work with demolition, planning, workplace communications, using plans and specifications, safe work and a White Card qualification, site levelling and manual handling of construction materials. Students will work with a range of building materials including bricks and mortar, timber framing, roofing materials, paving, plasterboard and paints, plus a wide range of fasteners in conjunction with hand and power tools.
PathwaysFurther Education Pathway - Certificate II and III Doorways 2 Construction Plus. Career Pathway - Apprenticeship or employment in a related industry.
Entry RequirementsExperience in a Design and Technology course at year 10 level or beyond desired but not essential. Students must meet LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) requirements.
Other Requirementssteel-capped safety boots and long trade pants.
