Course DescriptionFor students with a strong interest and drive to build a career in character animation for games, film, special FX and multimedia industries. Students learn a range of animation styles and techniques using industry standard 2D and 3D software. Students will also learn the production process; how to design and create characters, sound tracks and work to an industry brief, to create animations for both film and video games. This course has been developed in consultation with local animation companies. With a wealth of industry experience amongst our teachers, and regular industry-professional input and contact, many of our past students have secured industry positions both locally and internationally. PathwaysFurther Education Pathway - Successful completion of the course will allow students to continue to develop quality artwork for games and will build a portfolio for potential entry into AIE’s Advanced Diploma level courses. Career Pathway - Skills acquired in the completion of the certificate have applications across a range of industries requiring use of Animation, Programming, 3D Animator, Character Animater, Matte Painter, 3D Modeller and Environment Designer.
Entry RequirementsA minimum satisfactory pass of Literacy and Numeracy. A genuine interest in developing skills and knowledge related to working in the digital media industry. Students must show a potential for teamwork, regular attendance and a strong work ethic.
