Course DescriptionThis qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a defined range of basic tourism technical skills. Work could be undertaken in an office environment where the planning of tourism products and services takes place, in the field where tourism products are delivered or a combination. The field includes any destination, local/regional area, tourist precinct, attraction or on-board form of transportation. The qualification reflects the role of individuals, who perform a range of mainly routine tasks, using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Electives and course days may be subject to change.
PathwaysFurther Education Pathway - Certificate III in Travel Career Pathway - Travel Agent, Tourism Operator, Tourism Retail Sales Agent.
Entry RequirementsStudents should have a minimum Satisfactory pass of Year 10 English. Students should have a genuine interest in developing skills and knowledge related to working in the Tourism industry.
Other RequirementsAs part of the application students will need to attend an interview. This is their chance to ask questions and demonstrate their interest, enthusiasm and potential to successfully complete the course.
