DescriptionThis course is for students wishing to pursue a career in the Metals and Engineering trades or related industries. Students will develop competencies in the Metal workshops using a range of hand tools, portable power tools and industrial machines. The emphasis will include metal machining, lathe and milling machines, modern welding techniques and fabrication techniques. Students will be exposed to computer numerical control (CNC) machinery and reinforce the skills learnt by doing structured work experience. It is a practical based course with regular theory topics.
PathwaysFurther Education Pathway - Students who gain an apprenticeship may complete their trade Certificate III level qualification. Career Pathway - Students may be suitable for an Apprenticeship or employment within the Metals, Engineering, Manufacturing and associated industries.
